OFF TO SICILY!

Thanks to all for keeping in touch.

I am leaving the monastery of Sant'Anselmo and am joining my sister at Fiumicino Airport where we will then continue on to Siciliy, and Camporeale, the birthplace of our father's parents.

Hopefully, I will be able to get some time at the board of keys in an internet cafe. This free monastic internet has spoiled me.

See you there!

Ciao,
G

ARMALICIOUSI: There will be more. Oh, yes---there will be more. Maggiore!

NESSA: You would love it. It would love you.

LIMERS: Not just wonder, but full as well!

SHEILER: You will NOT believe the story I have about shaking that family tree! Incredible close encounter today in Camporeale.

MINDANCE: Same to you but more of it! It is hard being limited (internet).

BWOOKIE: Thank you, Honey. I am keeping you close all along the way. Know that.

CAT: You do mean "again." Right? Well, to be honest........

SCARLET: I was not ordained. But yes---I was a monk. It's been a while.

ANISSIONIA: Grazie! Multo grazie! My sister is doing the driving and she is "Ameri-safe."

I am dreaming of warm Italian sun, lovely bread and wine, cheese. Whoops. Think I just gained two pounds...

Safe travels, Gawpo - after hanging at the monastary, it might be a wee different. And, what gives?? Become a monk, get free internet access? Might be worth it... as long as it's DSL, of course.

Gawpo-just arrived back from the sales trip which was um, well, I'll tell you later. The sales part was great. The trip, well, it was a trip. Consider the company included, eh?

I got your phone message! Thanks for that! I LOVED it! Good job on the bogus accent. So nice of you to think of me and make that effort! I love you and am soooooo glad for you in that you get this most fulfilling trip.

VANDYKETIMES-SARAH: Well, the week in Rome was bellissima in terms of the weather, but when we got to Sicily, it rained and RAINED and POURED DOWN MORE RAIN AND HAIL AND HIGH WINDS CAME IN AND BLEW HUGE WAVES INTO ACTION. And I got some really great pictures of it all. The rains stopped today. We left today. We are now in Venice. xoxo, G

KATIE: And what a mind-blowing trip it has been. Pinch me!!!!

GRUMBLEYBOTTOM: And you have no idea how many times I think of you. I really, really do. You talk to me when I am shooting all day. I hear your voice and your curmudgeonly gafaw every time I botch what could have been a great shot. But I do think of you. A lot!

PAM AIRIES: They say, Ci videamo doppo.

Have your friend email me. Supito!

LEESAOCEANDREAMUH!: We went to Cefalù and OH! MY! GAWD! FATHER!

CHEENDRUH!: Call me!!! 39.377.305.4895 Yes, it will cost you. And yes, I have unlimited free incoming. And yes, I am worth it. And yes, YOU are worth it, too.

I want to hear all about the trip, etc.

Left you another message today. No accent.

Venice! Ah...amore.

The square at night. Dueling bands. Cappuccino. Tiramisu. Twinkling stars. It takes me back. Enjoy, my friend.

And beware the pigeons. They poop.

SOMEWHERE JOE: Ciao, Gio! Ciao, Gio Bell-O! The picturer loaded a total of 2,680 exposures onto the first of two 4gig cards just fine, grazie. Working on the second. Must pace: Venice required about 800 blinks. I will go through to night and delete the fuzzies.

Àngelus Dòmini nuntiàvit Mariæ,
Et concèpit de Spiritu Sancto...

ANISSA: Two words re: your pigeon warning----Boy Howdy! While none were permitted to perch upon my corpus, I did take several pics of others who had the birds lining their arms and taking up real estate atop heads. I winced as the inevitable surely took place. But I never saw anyone wiping at anything. So maybe they skated? Venice is the only place so far that had tons of pigeons. Not even Rome had the concentrations I saw today in the Pza. S. Marco. I love knowing that you were here. I feel accompanied. And at night it's outta this world.

I'm with you...leave the pigeon perching to those more poop-inclined. Honestly though, I couldn't believe the sight. Nor the fact that people actually let rats with wings SIT on their heads. Boy Howdy is right!

"I love knowing that you were here. I feel accompanied." And I feel like I'm right there with you. Thanks for letting me journey with you.

ANISSA: Ha! Rats with wings. I love it.

I wanna go back. NOW!

Sigh......

ANNIE: Sitting in the choir stalls with the other monks early in the morning made it all come back to me. Why did I leave? Can't quite recall. Oh yeah----airplane.

JACQUE LEBLANC: Boy---once an islander, always an islander, huh? I can't believe you actually LIVE there! Wow. This is a goal of mine: Go back and stay for a year. Cefalu was incredible. Ciao!
