BLUE TSG: Isn't that entire movie just straight up funny? What made me think of it was when I ran across the line dancing to Iron Butterfly. It made about as much sense as "the monster" dressed in a tux.

I love the Young Frankenstein....funny! Remember when we were kids and that song "INA-GODDA-DA-VIDA"...came out by Iron Butterfly...and everyone use to sing "In a Garden of Eden Baby"......it originally WAS "In a Garden of Eden"...and Iron Butterfly changed it later on to "Ina-Goddha-Da-Vida" ( that's your little tidbit for the evening) :-)
By the way... Sweet man! I did CHECK my mail on Saturday...and found something oh! so sweet that was very AMERICAN!!!!!!! Thanks bunches!!! hugs....XXXX....OOOOOO !!!!!!

VICCI: Yes, and I love how you include us: when we were kids. I didn't know that. I'm glad the "Americans" got to you intact. Surely a centennial celebration for you!

Ex's and Oh's your way!

As to the 1st video -- I experienced some serious cognitive dissonance there. My eyes and my ears were having trouble coming to terms with that input.

And the 2nd video -- Young Frankenstein is one of my all time favorite laugh-until-it-hurts movies.

That was fun. Thanks!

LIMERS: I was just watching The Black Knight and The Bridge Of Death and The Killer Bunny on YouTube. Funny child you had there. Yeah, can you believe the line dancing to Iron Butterfly? Wild and crazy days, these.

Good morning. Now that you've popped my cognitive circuits there's only one place to go with this... Gene & Peter ice skating together in tails and tights to Iron Butterfly doing Puttin On The Ritz...

SOMEWHERE JOE: Believe me, I looked. But it's not on You Tube yet. To be perfect though, either Peter or Gene will have to holster a cell phone on his belt in back.

SOMEWHERE JOE: Oh, and by the way, that little thing they do where they lift up a leg and then hop and turn; yeah, that's called a "hitch." Don't ask.

Hey Gawpo..how are you..? xx
The first clip gives a whole new meaning to 'line' dancing..!
The second..priceless. Peter Boyle was a favourite of mine and this film was wonderful.
Teri Garr, and Madeline Kahn, two more amazing actors who always made me laugh.
Sad that Peter and Madeline are no longer with us, and Teri has MS.
BTW..I have to ask..!
a 'hitch'?...don't leave it there Gawpo...
(I have visions of you in a leotard taking dance lessons etc...okay I have an over active imagination LOL)

SHEILA: Yo, CHEELA! Well, here I sit, at home, sick again or still or something like that. This bug that I first started feeling on March 11 won't leave. And I have asked nicely. I loved Peter Boyle, too. The good ones die young. The evil ones seem to live forever.

Ok. OK! OHHHHH!!! KAAAAAY!!!! I began line dancing last year. The group dissolved and I have not sought out another venue. But yes, tis true. No leotard. Just my Mexican Gaucho boots with embroidered horsies in which to stomp. It was fun and great exercise. There. I have come out to you. Luckily, no one else will be reading this since, I am sure, yours was the last comment. You WILL have the good taste to keep this just between the two of us, now won't you? Good. And thank you. I just don't know what could come of it if this "got out," if ya know what I mean. XO, G

Is Gawpo your Line Dancing Handle? So, like, do you think they were, like, really dancing to that, or was it, like, dubbed or something? Pretty bizarre stuff.

Young Frankenstein. I have tried to watch it once - maybe twice, but have had the misfortune (read "stupidity") to have started it at about 1:00 am and watched most of it through closed lids. I really must try again, because what I saw (through open lids) was a hoot. ^_^

CANDACE: Yes, it is. How did you guess? It's also my moniker in all the stag films. I mean, like, think about it. It's perfect. And yeah, I started wondering if it wasn't dubbed too. Funny, huh? But they dance to all sorts of songs that are not even close to country, so who knows. And you NEED to watch Y.F. through open lids. Do your eyes that favor.

Since i have obviously no clue about this kind of dancing I shall refrain from commenting :-)
Better to keep quiet and make pople wonder if you are dumb, than open your mouth and erase all doubt!!

Enjoyed both clips. :-)

I feel so left out. The clips won't open for me. Grrrr...I HATE technology.

However, after reviewing comments of others I will assume (naughty to do I know) but...Young Frawnk-un-steen is hilarious and if the first had something to do with line dancing then that's just wrong. In any form.

OMG, I totally remember playing that song over and over! How funny to watch the nerdy line dancers all hop up into the air together.
Young Frankenstein will forever be a comedic classic.
Thanks for the O'Sullivan video, it was very sweet. I couldn't help but think, nowadays he would seem like Mr. Perv Pervington, LOL.
I posted the dog story per your request.

Thanks for reminding me about this great clip!

NUSTY RAILS: Right on, Brutha! Preach on!!! Yeah! If they followed the Ham radio progression, they would by have had Generalology and then Advancedology and finally, Extraology. But nooooooooo----they stopped.

You are missing the famous Puttin' On The Ritz dance with Peter Boyle as "The Monster" and Gene Wilder as Doctor FRAWNK-en-schteen.

CLAIRE: And how about that 67 minute drum solo that every kid and their dog played on their desks at school?

Oh Clair, you are so very welcome for the Gilbert walk down memory lane. Yeah, he sort of looks creepy. Not how I pictured him at all. Now I must read the dog story.

CAMERON: Glad you got the kick I got out of it, Cams. Comedic genius has had profound impacts upon how I view life. Glad you liked it!

Ps: That's funny, I heard line dancing had its beginnings at the University of Punjab. Oh wait, maybe it was the University of Houston. I get those two schools confused. Sorry. Or should I say, Sari.....(you love me for that nimble wit, now don't you???? Just nod. Good.)

Oh, I heart that second video. That is what I wanted to do when I took tap lessons last summer. Top hats & canes, baby. Maybe next time.

And why on the first vid? Why Gawpo, why?

ARM: Wouldn't that just be the coolest thing in the world? To be able to dance like that?

On the first one, well....I don't know what got into me. Something just took over. All I remember is a bright light coming down from the night sky and next thing I know, it's 12 years later and my butt hurts. Go figure.
